Forklift lifting device

Client is manufacturing and supplying telecom towers. When loading the steel parts to 20" containers, the task is not so straight forward. To come over this challange a device needed to design to help feeding the containers (not open-top) by forklift.

The solution was an extension which the forklift can take and the "arms" will be extended. The typical load case was when the load is at the end of the extension. As the span is a major contributor to high moments in cantilevers, we have optimised the lentgth according to the lifted elements' length.

The extension was modeled as shell finite elements and Von-Mises yield criteria was checked.
